This website explores interpretations of Carmelite Spirituality, the interior journey of a modern day Hermit.

Living in solitude is a powerful force for good, and change, for we are all connected in his mystical body. To one who lives in solitude in service to God and mankind, contemplating the Living God, and Who they are in Christ, awareness of their own reality becomes more acute and the ties of love for humanity and all of God's creation grow stronger. The Hermit's freedom to love mankind is not dependent on their love for the Hermit, it is dependent upon the Hermit's love for them and for God, who is the Father of Love. The Hermit does not withdraw from the world because of hatred for the world; or because the Hermit does not want to participate in the world, she withdraws because she loves the world so much that she wants to become totally immersed in the world through her experience of God. Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity knew that her life in Carmel was a preparation for eternity and a means for the salvation of her soul. "As a cell within the mystical body of Christ, she knew that her own spiritual health affected the health of the whole Church. In seeking her own salvation, she became a working force for the salvation of all." Jean LaFrance (Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity, The Charism of Her Prayer).

These are reflections of my spiritual journey, a journey of discovery and healing, and a search for the true meaning of life. I hope you will find something in these reflections which will help you along your journey so that you may find that place where peace and joy live.
